Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (COMINSUD) has planned a Women and Youth Exchange and Social Enterprise Forum in Bamenda Regional Capital of the North West Region of Cameroon.
COMINSUD is a Non-Governmental Organizational that takes action in the developmental, peace and humanitarian activities of the communities.
The two-day from to hold on the 24th and 25th March 2024 aims to stimulate and enhance the contributions of young and middle age women and youths to peace promotion, socio-economic and political development of the North West Region within a crisis context.
It should be recalled that the English-speaking Regions of Cameroon have been experiencing a political crisis since 2017. The peaceful clamouring of a separate Anglophone state subsequently turned into an armed conflict. A situation that has disrupted the socio-economic activities of the Regions.
It is within this context that COMINSUD is working to empower communities through multi-sectoral interventions involving different partners and individuals. Presently, the organization is implementing a Social Aid and Support Project (SASU) sponsored by Bread for the World Germany. The project aims at providing psychosocial support and building resilience amongst socially excluded groups; especially young and middle-aged persons in 08 local councils of the North West Region.

A least 200 women and youths are expected to gain insights knowledge and motivation to work for peace, participate in political activities, engage in business and social enterprise activities as well as lead actions for local development. Amongst other modules the forum participants will reflect and established practical pathways that will enable them to personally engage in peace work, participate in political activities, engage in business and social enterprise activities and lead actions for local development. It shall also identify synergies and platform that enhance campaigns, lobbying and advocacy for greater impact were women and youths can connect to promote their ideas for greater impact.
