This was on the on the occasion of the 2024 edition of World Humanitarian Day celebrated in the North West Region of Cameroon at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Big Mankon under the theme #ActForHumanity. The over 26 humanitarian organizations were reminded of the importance of the protection and appropriate treatment of civilians, including humanitarian workers during war.

COMINSUD was prominent at the event showcasing some of the activities it has on the humanitarian space in the domains of protection, health, food distribution and nutrition and civil peace amongst others.

Statistics indicate that 2023 has been the deadliest year for humanitarian workers with indications thatf 2024 may be worst.
Observed every August 19, the first WHDW as first observed in 2009, August 19 to commemorate the 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarter in Baghdad that killed 22 humanitarian workers. The event is held every year to honor humanitarian workers and promote awareness of humanitarian efforts globally.
