COMINSUD gets encomiums

COMINSUD has been recognized for actively involved in ensuring an HIV Free North West Region. This was during a ceremony to end a five-year HIV-FREE Project in this part of Cameroon. The close out ceremony took place at the Bamenda Pastoral Center on October 9, 2024 and was presided over by the Regional Delegate of Public Health, Dr Che Soh Kingsley.

The HIV-FREE Project is sponsored by CDC PEPFAR, the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Board (CBCHB) in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health.

The first phase of the HIV free project ran from October 2019 to September 2024 has. During the ceremony the second phase 5-year phase   starting October 2024 was launched.

The ceremony was attended by HIV stakeholders and implementing partners in the Region. COMINSUD was given an award of appreciation recognizing their active participation in the last phase of the project which contributes to the UNAIDS treatment goals of 95-95-95 by 2020. (95-95-95( 95% of persons living with HIV who do not know their status are tested for HIV, 95% of PLWHIV who knows their status are on Anti-retroviral treatment, 95% of PLHIV who know their status and are on treatment attain a suppressed Viral Load)
