GIZ/UNFPA partner with COMINSUD and other CSOs to promote Peace and fight GBV

COMINSUD is privileged to be amongst a host of other CSOs in the North West and South West Regions participating in a project launch in Bafoussam on 5th – 6th February, 2025. The project titled “Woman eh, wuna place dey” is designed to leverage the potential of women and girls in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon for peace consolidation towards empowerment and protection from Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

The project to run for 4 years is implemented by GIZ and UNFPA with funding from the German government and the European Union.

By the end of the project over 10,000 direct 355,983 indirect beneficiaries particularly women and girls would have been reached by the project. The project has 4 outcomes thus:

– enhance women led organizations and women right organizations capacities in prevention of and sensitization on GBV

– GBV coordination on quality survivor- centered services delivery is reinforced in the NW SW Regions of Cameroon

– specific GBV actors and other important actors are empowered towards capacity building on GBV prevention, response and risk mitigation

– GBV awareness and prevention in communities in NW and SW Regions is enhanced.

The project was launched by the Governor of the West Region in the presence of the Country Representative of GIZ and UNFPA, the Regional Delegate for  MINPROFF and some 21 actors who will  be involved in the implementation. COMINSUD was represented at the event by the Coordinator FON NSOH.
