On April 24th and 25th , 2025, community peace builders from different sectors gathered at the Regional Delegation of Secondary Education for a transformative training organized by COMINSUD facilitated by the coordinator of Project Fon Nsoh. The active underground the civil peace service project sponsored by Bread for the word Germany, implemented by COMINSUD aimed at cultivating a culture of peace among communities facing conflict in the North West region of Cameroon. Recognizing that local people play a crucial role in resolving conflicts and restoring hope, the training focused on empowering community, youth, and school peace builders with essential tools and strategies. Participants engaged in practical discussions and activities, fostering a collaborative environment where they could share experiences and learn from one another.

As the training progressed, participants through group discussions, identified various forms of violence: physical, psychological, and digital and explored the underlying causes, including lack of resources, peer pressure, and the ongoing Anglophone crisis. participants also brainstormed on solutions to the conflicts affecting their communities and schools. They identified critical issues such as poor parenting, inadequate education on conflict resolution, and the influence of social media. The discussions culminated in actionable strategies, including the establishment of peace clubs in schools and the need for greater involvement of parents and teachers in peace education. Fon Nsoh and Florentine Fandio, the CPS National Coordinator, encouraged participants to take their newfound knowledge back to their communities, reinforcing the idea that sustainable peace begins with informed and active local leaders. The training not only equipped participants with vital skills but also ignited a renewed commitment to fostering peace in their regions.

A couple of icebreaker led by Munda Terence, gave a relaxed tone through out the sessions ahead. Participants expressed their satisfaction to acquired practical skills on conflict management. The Coordinator emphasized the importance of understanding local conflicts, such as the fragmentation between the Nso and Wimbum communities and the farmer-grazer conflicts in Wum.
