The North West Region of Cameroon has been plagued by instability and economic decline due to the ongoing Anglophone crisis. However, recent efforts toward peace and reconstruction have sparked hope for a brighter future. In line with this vision, the Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (COMINSUD) actively participated in the first-ever Economic Forum in the North West Region, held at the North West Regional Assembly from July 12 to 13, 2025. The forum with theme “From Resilience to Renaissance: Strategies for the Economic Transformation of the North West Region of Cameroon,” provided a platform for COMINSUD to showcase its efforts and contributions to economic and community development in the Region.

COMINSUD’s participation in the forum was a testament to its commitment to promoting peace, entrepreneurship, and community development in the North West Region. With six ongoing projects in the region, including the Social Aid and Support Project (SASU), First Line Local Assistance for Swift Humanitarian Response (FLASH), and Civil Peace Service (CPS) among others, COMINSUD has been working tirelessly to change the lives of vulnerable communities. The organization’s stand at the forum showcased its projects and activities, and its impact in the region. COMINSUD’s efforts were applauded by dignitaries in attendance, who encouraged the organization to continue its good work in promoting peace and development in the North West Region. The launch of the North West Development and Investment Fund (NOWEDIF) during the forum further solidified the region’s commitment to economic progress and development.

The Economic Forum emphasized the importance of collective effort in driving growth, promoting peace and development. Prof. Fru Angwafo III, President of the Northwest Regional Assembly emphasized on supporting local businesses, promoting peace, and investing in key development areas resonated with COMINSUD’s mission and projects.

As the region moves forward, COMINSUD’s contributions to peacebuilding, entrepreneurship, and community development will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping a brighter future for the North West Region.
COMINSUD’s active participation in the Economic Forum has demonstrated its commitment to this vision, and its work will undoubtedly continue to inspire hope and progress in the North West Region.

With the slogan “Me na you, you na me, we be we”, the Regional Assembly echoes that all actors must come on board to foster the vision of the economic forum.
