On August 19, 2025, the world united to celebrate World Humanitarian Day under the theme #ActForHumanity#. This day recognizes the courage and dedication of humanitarian workers who risk their lives daily to save others and serve humanity. Among the organizations participating in this global celebration, COMINSUD played a significant role at the CBC Health Services – CBCHS Complex in Bamenda, Cameroon.
The event was a vibrant acknowledgment of the resilience of humanitarian actors worldwide. As attendees gathered at the CBCHS Complex, an atmosphere of excitement and purpose filled the air. The day’s activities were designed not only to celebrate but also to foster a sense of community among various humanitarian organizations.
COMINSUD showcased its ongoing projects and highlighted the impact of its work of close to 30 years. With the support of partners such as the European Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and Bread for the World Germany amongst others, COMINSUD has implemented numerous initiatives addressing critical needs in the region. The organization’s stand, animated by its communication officer and dedicated staff, featured manuals, kits, and visibility materials that illustrated its projects.
The celebration included various fun activities like musical performances and skits enriched the day, with participants creatively conveying messages about the significance of humanitarian. Again other activities included work sack races, egg races, and chair dances, where COMINSUD staff enthusiastically participated alongside other organizations. These engaging events brought joy and laughter, turning the day into a memorable celebration of unity. Such moments reminded everyone that, while the work of humanitarian actors is serious, fostering relationships and enjoyment is equally important.
The day provided an invaluable opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing. It was an inspiring celebration that highlighted the vital role of humanitarian actors. COMINSUD’s active participation emphasized its dedication to creating positive change in communities.
