Over 700 inhabitants of Mile 7 Mankon have been sensitized on Peace Education and the importance of nurturing a just and peaceful society during the recently concluded finale of the Wisdom Education Facility (Mbappe School) Football Tournament. The outreach emphasized the core values of positivity, inclusion, equality, tolerance, and non-violence, reminding participants that sports and community gatherings can be powerful platforms for promoting peaceful coexistence.

This peace caravan formed part of COMINSUD’s ongoing collaboration with the Mankon community, which has steadily grown into a strong partnership for togetherness, peace, and development. The football tournament provided a unique opportunity to reach young people, community leaders, parents, and local residents with messages that link peace education to everyday life and community wellbeing.

Feedback from local organizers and participants underscored the transformative impact of COMINSUD’s Peace Caravans, which have over the years contributed significantly to reducing violence not only in Mankon but across the wider Mezam Division. A community member, Che Marcel, testified that the consistent presence of peace sensitisations by COMINSUD’s CPS team have helped shift mindsets, reduced youth involvement in violent activities, and created safer spaces for dialogue and social interaction.

With the support of Bread for the World through the Civil Peace Service, COMINSUD continues to employ Peace Education as a powerful instrument to address violence, particularly in youth settings. By combining sensitization, community mobilization, and value-driven activities such as sports, COMINSUD is fostering a culture where young people embrace peace, inclusion, and mutual respect as the foundation of a just and peaceful society.
