COMINSUD Supports Vulnerable Young, Middle-Aged Women and Youths through Economic Empowerment

As part of the Social Aid and Support (SASU) Project, funded by Bread for the World Germany, the Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (COMINSUD) organized a capacity-building workshop targeting vulnerable young women and men. On 21 November 2025, at the North West Human Rights Commission Hall in Bamenda, COMINSUD trained and supported 40 young entrepreneurs drawn from Bamenda II and Bamenda III Subdivisions.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to essential concepts such as micro-business setup and management, capital mobilization, and record keeping. The training also emphasized mindset transformation, underscoring the idea that resilience begins with recognizing one’s potential and embracing innovative approaches to livelihood improvement.

Beyond capacity building, participants received micro-grant support to establish or expand their businesses. COMINSUD remains committed to guiding beneficiaries throughout their entrepreneurial journey, supporting them with business idea refinement, action planning, market assessment, and proper financial documentation.

The empowerment of these 40 young entrepreneurs marks a significant step toward strengthening community resilience, improving household income, and fostering self-reliant communities. Ultimately, the SASU project continues to demonstrate that when young people receive the right tools, knowledge, and opportunities, they not only transform their own lives but also contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic recovery and sustainable development of their communities.

Economic empowerment remains a cornerstone for building resilience and fostering recovery among vulnerable individuals, especially within crisis-affected communities in the North West Region where livelihoods are disrupted and families face increased hardship. In such challenging contexts, empowering young people to achieve financial stability is more than an economic initiative; it is a pathway to restoring dignity, hope, and long-term community resilience.
