COMINSUD has received encouragements from a team of the World Food Program (WFP) Yaounde. Accompanied by staff of the WFP North West Field Office, Wednesday 5 June 2024 visit was meant to carry out a spot check of the WFP/COMINSUD partnership engaged since 2019.

The visit falls in line with the partnership and risk management, including an assurance activity that involves on–site reviews, review of internal controls and review of sample reported expenditures. It also seeks to determine the level of weaknesses and identify capacity and performance assessment needs for corrective actions.

During a working session they sought to evaluate adherence to outlined procedures under the capacity assessment in relation with activities under the Field Level Agreements (FLA). The spot check also served as an opportunity for the WFP to Verify invoices/expenditures. Assess CPs Anti-Fraud Anti-Corruption policies and regulation and compliance with WFP requirements, conduct awareness sessions on Anti-fraud and Anti-Corruption (AFAC) and Ethics, review financial, logistical, and administrative processes.

At the end of the working session the WFP officials promised to make recommendations that world boost COMINSUD’s capacity to carry out its mission as assigned in the partnership agreement.

COMINSUD has been working with WFP since 2019 in over 6 Divisions in the North West Region (Mezam, Momo, Boyo, Menchum, Ngo-ketunjia and Bui). Since the inception of the present armed conflict, they have distributed food assistance, Cash support, nutritive food supplements provided by WFP to over 100,000 individuals.
